OSHA Injury Reports

This OSHA Injury Report was compiled directly from data that is publicly available from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). OSHA Injury Reports can be helpful in understanding the types of workplace injury claims involving defective products or malfunctioning equipment in the workplace. 

The manufacturers of defective equipment or machinery resulting in a worker injury may be found to be negligent and liable for damages in a separate civil lawsuit. You may be able to recover damages on top of a workers’ comp claim if injured in a job accident caused, in part, by a third party. Report: Nonroadway collision with object other than vehicle, n.e.c. at Smith Oilfield Svc. in Aspermont, Texas

An employee was using an electronic power jack to set up pallets when he lost control of the jack because of wet conditions. The jack crashed into nearby pallets, causing them to fall on the employee.

A crane was removing a heater from a platform. The heater was lifted up to tighten the chains before resuming the lift, but the heater stack (7 ft. pipe) broke off of the heater. The broken piece struck an employee, who suffered a severe concussion and broken bones in the neck.
