Internal injuries to organs and blood vessels of the trunk

While in a trench taking a material survey for the next day, an employee was struck by a 1,000-pound electrical panel and caught between the panel and trench wall. The employee sustained multiple rib fractures on both sides, as well as a lacerated liver and spleen.

An employee was attending a tag line while a forklift was lowering a steel joist to the ground when the joist fell from the forklift and struck the employee. The employee suffered broken ribs, a perforated lung, and a broken leg.

An employee finished using a vehicle-mounted boom arm/crane to load clean-out tubs and was retracting the stabilizers when he was caught between a stabilizer and the truck.
