Report: Struck by swinging part of powered vehicle at A-Line E.D.S. Inc. in Lake Jackson, Texas

The injured employee was rigging up a component of a very large transformer to remove it by lifting it off the main transformer body using an all terrain telescoping forklift. The employee was positioned on top of the transformer completing the rigging with lifting hooks when the forklift operator accidentally bumped the joystick causing the boom to drop and catch the injured employee’s right arm between the boom and a metal beam. The employee suffered broken bones in the right arm.
