This OSHA Injury Report was compiled directly from data that is publicly available from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). OSHA Injury Reports can be helpful in understanding the types of workplace injury claims involving defective products or malfunctioning equipment in the workplace.
The manufacturers of defective equipment or machinery resulting in a worker injury may be found to be negligent and liable for damages in a separate civil lawsuit. You may be able to recover damages on top of a workers’ comp claim if injured in a job accident caused, in part, by a third party. These third party personal injury cases should be given responsible legal guidance.
Trammell Piazza Law Firm claims no responsibility for any errors or inconsistencies in OSHA’s data.

Report: Struck by object or equipment rolling freely at LineTec Services, LLC in Boerne, Texas
DATE: 07/28/20
A crew was working on a single-phase re-conductor project. The digger truck, which was pulling the four-drum puller trailer, had been driven into position to start pulling ropes on a section of line. The puller was at a 90-degree angle to the digger truck to align the drums with the existing poles. The puller then needed to be repositioned. An employee used two safety chains to connect the puller to the winch line from the digger. He then winched up so he could disconnect the puller from the back of the digger truck. At this point the puller disconnected from the hitch and rolled forward on sloped ground, pinning the employee between the digger truck and the puller. He sustained injury to the pelvis and back.
