An employee was conducting layout with a coworker. The injured employee was walking to move some construction material that was in the pathway of the layout. On the way back to his instrument, he walked behind a dump truck that was being loaded. As the operator attempted to place a load of concrete into the dump truck, a piece of the concrete missed the dump truck and fell, striking the employee on the top of the hard hat. The employee suffered concussion symptoms.
