An employee was leaving the site at the end of his shift when he noticed a piece of stationary equipment (hydraulic plant) was still running. He stepped out of his truck to shut off the equipment. He was struck by a steel shim that weighs 1.38 lbs. and that fell from a height of approximately 35 feet. He sustained a head laceration and skull fracture.
