Report: Struck by discharged object or substance at Brand Energy Solutions, Inc. in Freeport, Texas

An employee was changing out a blast hose on the underside of a pot when someone recharged the pot, causing blast media to discharge from the lower port and strike the employee on the right side of his face. He suffered an abrasion and blunt trauma to the face from blast grit under pressure. Some of the blast grit was embedded in his facial skin. He was hospitalized. All required PPE was worn at the time of the incident.
