Report: Other fall to lower level, unspecified at Southwest Airlines in Kenner, Louisiana

An employee was working on top of jet bridge stairs near a lift used for transporting items (bags, strollers) to the ground. The lift malfunctioned and fell approximately 9 feet to just about 1 foot from the ground. The employee fell from the platform onto the lift and rolled onto the concrete, suffering a broken collarbone, broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a cracked vertebra.
