Report: Other fall to lower level 11 to 15 feet at K & M Well Service, LLC in Big Lake, Texas

An employee on a work over rig went to the rig platform to relieve the rig operator. Wind was blowing very hard (30 to 40 mph) with gusts. An umbrella was attached to a handrail to protect employees from elements and blowing dust. The employee was adjusting the umbrella when a strong gust blew him off of the rig platform. The gust carried the umbrella, the 4-5 foot handrail, and the employee over the edge. He fell approximately 15 feet to the ground, breaking his femur.
