Report: Inhalation of harmful substance-single episode at Energy Transfer, LP in Coyanosa, Texas
DATE: 01/05/20
An employee climbed up stairs to a tank gauging platform, accessed the tank to be gauged, cracked the gauging hatch to let it vapor off while standing upwind, and gauged the tank twice. During the third gauging effort, the employee was exposed to hydrogen sulfide (H2S). He was hospitalized for upper respiratory tract irritation, dizziness and disorientation.
