An employee was preparing to frame up a wall on the second floor and fell approximately 16 feet through a 5′ x 5′ opening in the floor. The employee struck the wood guardrail on the first floor. The employee sustained facial fractures, fractured ribs, a fractured hip, bleeding on the brain and a spleen injury. The employee was hospitalized.
