Report: Explosion of pressure vessel, piping, or tire at Crossroads LP in Fort Worth, Texas

An employee was cleaning a thermoplastic cart. The thermoplastic was being drained into a 55-gallon metal drum and was heated. The drum had trash in it and the thermoplastic heated up some aerosol paint cans that were not visible and caused them to explode. The explosion threw the hot thermoplastic on the employee’s head and arms, causing burns.
