An employee was operating a plastics extrusion machine when a pressure buildup due to temperature differences in the plastic material caused a release of liquid plastic. The liquid plastic contacted the employee between a seam in the employee’s PPE glove and protective garment (sleeve), burning the left forearm and hand. The employee was hospitalized.
