Report: Caught in running equipment or machinery during regular operation at Simmons Food, Inc. in Decatur, Arkansas

An employee reached across a conveyor to straighten a 14 lb. bag of dog food that was coming down the conveyor when he slipped and his hand went through the rollers on the transition conveyor. The rollers continued turning and rubbing against the employee’s arm causing severe skin burns to his left forearm. Employee was hospitalized overnight for skin graft purposes.
