Report: Caught in running equipment or machinery during maintenance, cleaning at American Plant Food Corporation in Galena Park, Texas

DATE: 10/24/18

An employee was conducting routine cleaning using a long hoe to scrape and collect excess material (ammonium sulfate) from a moving conveyor line when she was struck by and caught in the line. Other employees came to her aid and cut her loose. She was hospitalized with injuries to her neck, chest, and sternum. The conveyor line was unguarded at the time.
