An employee climbed up a turbine, inspected the chain hoist, and noticed that it was stuck. He was attempting to release the chain when it recoiled and pulled his hand into the hoist. He suffered a laceration to the left middle finger and a fracture to the left middle phalanx, requiring hospitalization and surgery.
