Puncture wounds, except gunshot wounds

An employee was sorting cattle. A cow’s horn got stuck in the pen gate; when she shook her head to free it, the horn punctured the employee’s eye.

An employee was standing behind a saw picking up wood as it was being cut when a piece of wood kicked back and struck him. The piece of wood impaled his back and came out of his lower body. He was hospitalized.

An employee was trying to relieve the tension on a bailer wire channel. His hand was on the wire/channel when he turned the machine on. The wire then penetrated his left palm and came out the side of his wrist/forearm.

An employee was using a handheld hydraulic crimping tool. A hose failed and injected the employee’s left flank with hydraulic fluid.

An employee was removing a transducer when high pressure fluid struck his hand, penetrating his skin.

On June 17, 2019, an employee was stapling wood together using a pneumatic staple gun. The gun shot a staple into the employee’s elbow.

An employee was monitoring a 4-inch pump line being used to pump flood water away from a retention pond next to the facility. Two men drove up to the employee and robbed and stabbed him with a box cutter. He was hospitalized for bowel injuries.

An employee was using a hammer to remove a sprocket when a piece broke off the sprocket and embedded into his left knee. It required surgical removal.

An employee was stocking the shelf in the front of the store when a customer came into the store and stabbed him in the neck and face. The employee was hospitalized.

A maintenance employee was using an air-powered grease gun to grease some floating mooring bits when it injected grease underneath his thumb.
