Puncture wounds, except gunshot wounds

A Border Patrol Agent was bitten by a tick and eventually required hospitalization.

An employee was on a pump jack scaffold installing siding on a residential home using a nail gun. A nail from the gun bounced off the wall and hit the employee in the eye. The nail got stuck in his eye, and he was hospitalized for surgery.

A spider bit an employee under the right arm while the employee was setting up a display booth. The employee was hospitalized.

An employee was nailing 2×4’s together with a nail gun. He had several lined up on a table and was ailing them to make 4×4’s when he shot a nail through his right middle finger.

An employee’s right thumb was punctured by fencing material when erecting a fence on the ranch property. The employee began to experience abdominal stomach cramps days later and was admitted to the hospital. Diagnosis may be related to the employee’s thumb injury.

An employee was bitten by a spider. Two to three days later the bite swelled up and the employee was admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics.

An employee was using a pneumatic staple gun to assemble a door unit. The employee hit a knot in the wood frame, causing the staple to fly back into the employee’s eye. No eye protection was used at the time.

An employee was buffing out a valve on a trailer with a buffer when a piece of metal dislodged from the buffing disc and flew under his safety glasses into his eye. He was hospitalized.

An employee was injured when a hydraulic hose from a hydraulic pump busted. The employee was performing a lug-nut connection on a cable-end. The employee received injuries to his upper right thigh. Hydraulic fluid penetrated into the employee’s leg 1/2″ wide by 3/4″ deep. The employee was hospitalized for observation.

On 04/27/2015, an employee was changing settings on a welding gun and punctured his knee with welding wire. The employee was admitted to the hospital and treated for cellulitis and an abscess.
