Internal injuries to organs and blood vessels of the trunk

An employee doing fiber optic installation was climbing a communication pole and fell from an unknown height. The employee suffered a couple of cracked ribs and a punctured lung.

An employee was working on a truck that was on a jack stand. The truck came off the jack stand and struck the employee’s torso, causing internal injuries and bleeding.

An employee was selecting cases in the freezer area while driving a long jack. As he stepped off the long jack, he was still holding the accelerator and pinned himself between a rack and the long jack resulting in fractured ribs and a laceration to the lungs.

An employee was walking through the hallway of the hotel, tripped and fell suffering a collapsed lung.

An employee was working on a third floor balcony, applying flashing to metal. The employee stepped through the floor joists, landed on the second floor balcony, and then fell to the first floor. The employee sustained broken ribs, a broken ankle, and a punctured lung and was hospitalized.

An employee fell while walking between his truck’s catwalk and the trailer to get bungee cords to secure the trailer load. He broke three ribs, punctured a lung, and broke his collarbone.

An employee was attempting to relocate a pallet of car batteries while operating a forklift with the forks elevated. As he attempted to turn, the forklift flipped over and pinned him beneath the roll-over protector and the ground. He suffered blunt force trauma to the upper torso and ruptured his spleen, requiring hospitalization.

An employee fell off of an 8-foot ladder while installing metal canopy. A beam fell, knocking the ladder out from under the employee who broke a rib and punctured a lung.
