Fractures

An employee was filling cylinders with pressurized nitrogen. A piece of metal came loose, lacerating and breaking the employee’s arm.

An employee was disassembling an MRI medical table when it fell onto his hand, breaking it.

An employee was using a hoist to move a wall into place so it could be screwed down. While moving the wall into place, it bumped into an existing wall and was displaced from the hoist, falling onto the employee. The employee sustained a neck fracture.

An employee was moving a UPS cabinet off a pallet using a pallet jack. The pallet buckled and tipped toward the employee, bending his right hand back. He suffered two broken bones in the hand and was hospitalized, requiring surgery.

While working in the backroom, an employee’s foot/feet got tangled in plastic wrap that was on a pallet. This caused her to fall and strike both the floor and a wooden pallet. The employee was hospitalized with a fracture below the knee.

An employee lost balance while operating an electric pallet jack. The employee fell from the pallet jack and their left foot was caught between the pallet jack and a pallet. The employee was hospitalized with an open fracture of the left big toe.

An employee was moving a granite slab. The slab fell on the employee’s foot, breaking it; the employee was hospitalized.

An employee was assisting others carry a 3/4″ pipe. When he stepped on the edge of a 4″ concrete pad, the employee’s ankle rolled and fractured.

An employee was cleaning up after replacing a motor on a conveyor. While trying to pick up the old motor it slipped and fell. The employee tried to catch it and the motor fell on his right hand causing broken bones.
