Fractures and other injuries, n.e.c.

An employee was lighting a vessel’s pilot when the vessel exploded and struck the employee, causing multiple lacerations to the employee’s head and face and multiple fractures to the wrist, shoulder, ribs, and clavicle.

An employee was attempting to adjust a row of televisions on a metal rack while on a power lift. When he stepped off the lift onto the steel rack, he fell 20 feet to the concrete below, fracturing both arms, contusing his right eye, and lacerating/fracturing his skull/forehead.

An employee was removing insulation from the sheetrock ceiling of a roof when he stepped on the sheetrock ceiling and fell 20 feet to the floor below. He suffered a fractured skull, broken ribs, lacerated spleen, broken left wrist, and bruised kidney.

An employee fell approximately 30 feet through an uncovered hole in the floor, sustaining multiple broken bones and a broken nose, and knocking out teeth.

An employee working in the deli slipped in mop water and fell, suffering a broken pelvis and elbow, as well as internal injuries.

An employee on a ladder was working on a circuit that he thought was de-energized. He grabbed the circuit with lineman pliers. He was knocked off the ladder by a coworker, sustaining a shoulder fracture and shock injuries.

While operating a mail-processing machine, an employee’s head became trapped between the equipment and a guard, fracturing the skull, breaking ribs, severing ears, and damaging vertebrae.

An employee had just climbed down a lighting tower. While moving from the tower to the stage, the employee fell 6 feet off the stage to the ground level below, suffering a cranial injury, nose fracture, and facial fractures.

While waiting for reject materials to be generated, an employee’s right-hand middle, ring, and pinky fingers became wedged in a pinch point of the conveyor. The fingers broke and suffered skin removal.

An employee was cutting cores with a saw. While she was attempting to retrieve a marking crayon, the saw cut her right hand and broke her right index finger. She was hospitalized.
