Deborah Truby Riordan obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas- Fayetteville, where she was a member of the Chancellor’s List, Dean’s List, Mortar Board, Order of Omega, University Judicial Review Board, President of Chi Omega Fraternity, Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities, and was named the University’s Outstanding Greek Woman.  She attended law school at Vanderbilt University School of Law, where she was an Associate Editor of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law and was on the Dean’s List.  Deb Riordan was an attorney at Perkins & Trotter, PLLC for 5 years, and at Shults, Ray & Kurrus for 6 years, where she represented corporate clients in a wide range of business and real estate issues throughout the State of Arkansas.  Following her practice and Perkins & Trotter, PLLC, Deb Riordan was an attorney at Wilkes & McHugh, P.A. for 9 years, where she was the lead legal writer on appeals and dispositive motions in Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kentucky.

Deb Riordan has extensive experience in representing corporate clients in such issues as the preparation, negotiation, and enforcement of commercial contracts and confidentiality agreements.  Deb Riordan also provides counsel and legal guidance on corporate governance issues; employer- employee relations (developing policies and procedures, non-compete, and standard employment agreements, and providing counsel on personnel, workers compensation, and termination issues); commercial lending; marketing; debt collection; real estate; mergers and acquisitions; trademarks; and bankruptcy issues.  Deb Riordan has also represented several telecommunications providers in regulatory matters before the Arkansas Public Service Commission and has represented companies in regulatory matters before the Arkansas Tobacco Control Board, the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

In addition, Deb Riordan has extensive experience in business, health care and personal injury litigation in Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Kentucky.  Deb Riordan has acted as lead appellate counsel on more than 70 appeals to the appellate courts of Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee, and before the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th and 8th Circuits on such issues as procedural compliance, arbitration, nonprofit status, professional liability, corporate liability, and judgment enforcement. She has also assisted counsel of record from other jurisdictions in their preparation and submission of appellate briefs to the appellate courts of Mississippi, Florida, and Georgia.
