Report: Struck by object falling from vehicle or machinery-other than vehicle part at GULF STREAM MARINE in Houston, Texas

An employee was working inside a gondola rail car, rigging bundles of steel rebar for hoisting out of the car. During a partial breakout lift (hoisting about 2 feet to gain access for slinging), a nylon strap parted under the 1,100-2,200-pound load, which fell back into the car and struck the employee. The employee suffered a broken femur and collarbone.
