Report: Struck by object falling from vehicle or machinery-other than vehicle part at TNT Crane & Rigging, Inc. in Corpus Christi, Texas

DATE: 03/23/17

A crane operator was setting up to perform work on the HVAC units on the roof. The rear outrigger penetrated the concrete surface which caused the crane to partially turn over in the direction of the counterweights. The pill ball swung back towards the crane cab. The crane operator exited the crane cab and struck the injured employee standing outside the crane cab knocking him to the ground. The injured employee sustained fractured lower vertebrae, a foot fracture and a head contusion.
