An employee was pulling a welder up to the catwalk with a rope when the left side of the catwalk railing broke, causing him to fall 25 feet to the ground below. His head hit a toolbox, and his back hit the platform railing. He was hospitalized with an L1 lumbar fracture and required staples for his head injury.
