An employee was working on a centrifuge on top of a centrifuge stand. The employee lost footing while stepping down from the centrifuge and fell backward into the handrails. The hand rails gave out, causing the employee to fall approximately 12 to 15 feet to the ground. The employee suffered bruised muscles and a pinched nerve in the buttocks.
