Report: Injured by slipping or swinging object held by injured worker at Hunt Forest Products L.L.C. in Pollock, Louisiana

An employee was cleaning suction holes on a stacker, using a 4.5″ side grinder with a wire brush wheel. While cleaning pitch off the holes, he had the grinder in his right hand and was holding off some belts that were in the way with his left hand when the wire wheel contacted his left thumb. A piece of wire strand became embedded in his left thumb and had to be surgically removed.
