Two employees were removing an air bladder shaft from a paper core inside a plastic roll. The roll was on a pallet on the floor. An employee was stationed at each side of the roll. The injured employee (temporary employee) was pushing the air release valve signaling the other employee to remove the shaft. When the shaft was removed, the injured employee’s right index finger was caught between the core and the air release valve causing a fracture/laceration to his right index finger. The injured employee was wearing cut resistant gloves.
