Soreness, pain, hurt-nonspecified injury

An employee was in an excavation about 15 feet deep, probing with a probe bar to find an existing sewer pipe. Part of a step fell and hit him on the knee, causing him to fall. He suffered injuries to his knee and two left-side ribs.
